D-Promos runs on two channels. D-Promos Certified Devices are built for unattended screens: they run on their own all day. Google Play Compatible devices —coming soon— will be any Google-certified Google TV or Android TV with the D-Promos app. Content, dashboard and layouts are the same; what changes is how much the device does without help.

The differences aren't about quality: they're rules Google Play sets for every app in its store. No store app can reboot the device, open itself from the background or keep the screen on unless someone turns that on. That's why there are two channels.

Internet down? Still selling.

Content is stored on the device and stays on screen. When the network is back, it catches up on its own.

Certified Devices

Power outage? It comes back.

When power returns, the Certified Device goes back to your content without anyone touching it. On a Google TV, depending on the device, someone may need to open the app.

Both channels

Hung? It gets back up.

If the video freezes, the player resumes it, on both channels. On a Certified Device, a separate watchdog also brings the app back if it hangs or closes.

Good to know before you start

Google Play sets rules for every app in its store. So on this channel:

  • The screen doesn't turn on and off with your hours.
  • After a power outage, on many devices someone has to open the app.
  • To keep it from turning off, turn on "Keep screen on" in the app.
  • The remote's center button pauses content; it resumes after 2 minutes.
  • If the app fully closes, there's no separate watchdog to reopen it.

Can I use my own screens and just install the stick?

Yes. If your monitors have HDMI input, the Android TV stick turns them into D-Promos screens instantly — no need to replace the monitor.

What's included in the device loan?

The device on loan while your subscription is active. If it fails through normal use, we send you a replacement to plug into your screen, at D-Promos' expense.

Can I mix my own devices with loaned ones?

Yes. You can have a mix of owned and loaned devices on the same account, all managed from the same dashboard.

Does the hardware work without internet?

Yes. All devices have local cache. If the connection drops, they keep displaying the last published content.

Does it work with my Hisense, Philips, TCL or Sony TV?

If your TV runs Android TV or Google TV, the D-Promos app will work on many models from brands like Hisense, Philips, TCL and Sony once it is on Google Play (coming soon). For every feature, we will help you choose a D-Promos Certified Device.
